Brian Duffy

- From Max Luxton

Long-time sidecar exponent BRIAN DUFFY passed away aged 88 on 14th December after a battle with dementia.

Sydney born and raised, Brian moved to Narromine, NSW in his later years. With his sidecar passenger Max Luxton Brian was a familiar figure at Bathurst and Oran Park on a variety of outfits including a 650 Triumph and an International Norton. In 1970 he purchased from Stan Bayliss the water-cooled Honda S600 car-engined outfit that had been originally built by Orrie Salter and Charlie Ogden. This proved to be the last of his outfits, although he and Max both raced 125 Yamahas in solo events and a 350 Matchless in Historic races. ■
