More gold…
included stories on the BSA Gold Flash and the Kawasaki H2 with a blue H2 making the cover shot. Both prompted me to dig around for complimentary shots in my photo archive.
Dave Burke is a strapping young lad and has followed in his Dad Alan’s footsteps in embracing classic motorcycling. Alan has a trusty BSA C11 and Dave’s first restoration was a baby BSA Bantam. It was soon apparent that the Bantam was a little undersized so, via a few friends, he purchased a 1953 Gold Flash for restoration. The target for completion was the 2021 HMCCQ 50+1 Rally. He made it but only via help from Dad and a few stalwarts in the club. The result was a stunning example in glistening gold and Dave rode the whole rally without incident. It was a joy to see Dave and Alan riding together as father and son. Dave looked exceptionally well suited to the Golden Flash and a photo of Dave on the Flash deemed appropriate to represent the month of March in the 2023
HMCCQ calendar.
