1994 Ducati 916
Accepted as one of the most beautiful motorcycles of all time, the Ducati 916, designed by the legendary Massimo Tamburini, was more than just stunning to behold. Underneath the svelte fairing was a completely new package, and credit must go to the Castiglioni family, owners of Cagiva and Ducati from 1985, for managing to conceive and produce such a ground-breaking model at a time when Ducati itself had been struggling for profitability. Despite its all-new ethos, the 916 did embrace some Ducati signatures, such as desmodromic valve operation and the steel trellis frame, but broke new ground in other areas, including in the use of Showa suspension. Today there are few more collectable motorcycles than a pristine original 916.
