The Easter long weekend saw the start of the season proper with around 140 entries, which included 10 Sidecars and 11 Juniors. The weather was perfect for racing. As always with the HCMC, family comes to the fore with father and sons racing, brother vs brother, brother vs sister as well as a new addition with a father/daughter combo joining the field at this round. On track the rivalry is fierce but in the paddock everyone are mates.

In the P5 750/P5 UL/P6 750/PreModern three riders shared the podium positions getting their seasons off to a solid start. Paul Smith (1990 RetroMoto Suzuki 750) leads the charge with two wins and a second place. Second is Brad Thompson (1990 Suzuki 750) with a win and two second places and filling the minor podium place is Tony Hynes (1988 Gelorup Motorcycle Repairs Suzuki 750) with three solid third places.

The results were much the same in the P2 All/P3 All with three riders dominating the day's proceedings; John Pitcher (1961 Norton 650) with three wins, Glenn Baldwin (1958 BSA 350) with three second places and Andrew Orford (1956 BSA 500) three third places. In the P6 250 Production/P6 250GP/P6 125GP Richard Langdon (1990 Suzuki 250) chalked up three convincing wins over Sammy LloydCox (1989 Honda 250) and Mark Laing-Hughes (1990 Honda RS 125GP). In the Historic & Modern Sidecars the Marshall brothers Morgan & Dion (RHR 1000) finished upside down at T9, and run-away race leaders Darren Nash/Drew Lock (RHR Kawasaki 1000) miscalculating and pulling into the pits a lap before the end of the race. At the end of the day it was the husband and wife pair of Sam and Kathryn Watson (Watson Racing 600) who won the round with Nash/Lock second and Harvey/Marshall third.

The Junior 150 Production class saw 11 of the fastest kids in WA on track. Welcome to Olivia Smith, daughter of Paul Smith #76, having her first race ride and to Trystan House at his second race meeting. The day saw two different winners with Jayden Martin (Aussie Moto Engineering Yamaha R15) win the first and third races with Jack Dowling (Five Star Yamaha – Yamaha R15) winning the second. More Juniors are set to join the field as the season progresses. In the P6 500/P6 Formula 1300 newly-crowned National P6 – Formula 1300 Champion Josh Mathers (JSM Construction 1987 Yamaha 1029) took the win in the first and third races and the overall win on the day. Paul Smith took the other win along with two second places and Tony Hynes had three third places.
