Even more happiness across Fiji with first Olympic GOLD!

There were celebrations throughout the nation, and a public holiday declared, with the news of Fiji’s sensational first-ever Olympic Gold at Rio in August. Fiji’s Rugby 7s beat Great Britain 43-7 in a nail-biting match that cemented Fiji’s status as the world’s top rugby nation.

Carlah Walton, regional direct of Tourism Fiji Australia said the historic win reminded the world “… that happiness can find you on our beaches, in our turquoise waters, through the smiles and welcoming Bula of our people, as well as on the Rugby pitch.”
