Serving up community spirit

- By WENDY STEPHENS

LOCAL residents young and old took the night off from cooking late last month to enjoy a free and nutritious meal with their friends at Quercus.

“Volunteers prepare the meal every six weeks using produce harvested from the community food garden and donated food from the Albury/Wodonga Regional Food Share,” Trish Mom from Quercus said.

“Any member of the community is invited to come along either with their friends, family, or alone because we believe sharing helps to bring people together, to meet new people and to engage in conversation.”

“Meals are prepared and served in the spirit of co-operation by community volunteers”.

The Community Sharing Feasts happens every six weeks and bookings are essential for catering purposes.
