Ex­er­cise club wel­comes a trio of new train­ers

KEEP­ING fit and healthy as you get older has never been so ac­ces­si­ble now that Beech­worth Ex­er­cise Ac­tiv­ity and Train­ing (BEAT) have three re­cently qual­i­fied train­ers from Wodonga TAFE.

Brian Rock, chair of the Beech­worth Com­mu­nity Sup­port Com­mit­tee was de­lighted to hand over ac­cred­i­ta­tion cer­tifi­cates to the new train­ers, Mar­garet Beat­son, Har­vey An­der­ssen and Judy Smith.

The trio all com­pleted a Cer­tifi­cate III in Fit­ness.

They will work along­side ex­ist­ing train­ers Rob and Lee Wha­mond, He­len Ken­ney and Lorna Green who are de­lighted with the three ad­di­tions.

Judy Smith said sup­port from lo­cal group helped the new train­ers gain their qual­i­fi­ca­tion.

“We are de­lighted to have had the fi­nan­cial sup­port of the Com­mu­nity Sup­port Group so that we could do this course,

Ms Smith also thanked WAW Credit Union for their gen­eros­ity in help­ing fund new uni­forms for BEAT staff.

The group meets at the Se­nior Cit­i­zens Hall in Harper Street twice a week on Mon­day and Wed­nes­days from 9.30 to 10.30am.

Led by qual­i­fied in­struc­tors the group runs classes in gen­tle ex­er­cise that in­cludes warm­ing up, cool­ing down, re­sis­tance train­ing or qigong.
