Free website listing opportunity for Indigo tourism businesses
AS part of an ambitious strategy Indigo Shire Council hopes to get every local tourism businesses online to promote the region and motivate potential visitors through a compelling digital presence.
Council’s tourism team is working with tourism operators from across the shire to put their business in front of over one million visitors annually.
The Digital Excellence Partnership provides eligible tourism operators with the opportunity to have their business listed on the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) and on several websites, with the $295 fee fully covered by Indigo Shire Council.
Along with a presence through the ATDW, businesses will also be featured via Visit Victoria.com.au, VictoriasHighCountry.com.au and on council’s four town websites (Beechworth, Rutherglen, Yackandandah and Chiltern).
Indigo Council tourism manger Susannah Doyle said the digital excellence partnership program is one of the first initiatives being implemented from the recently released Tourism Strategy.
“Digital Excellence is crucial to growing awareness of our towns, surrounding areas, products and experiences,” she said.
“It supports all our efforts to grow visitor numbers, length of stay and how much they spend while they are here.
“We have already embarked on a review of editorial content across all websites and will deliver four beautiful websites, rich in content and imagery and seasonally relevant.
“The Digital Excellence Partnership has the ability to place 100 per cent of our tourism businesses and tourism events in front of over one million people each year.”
