Rates issue to be fixed
INDIGO Shire ratepayers that were overcharged 70 cents will be credited in next year’s rates.
Put down as a coding error, Indigo Shire residents were charged an extra 70 cents on their rates with Cr Di Shepheard saying it won’t happen again at the council meeting on Tuesday night.
“We were all quite concerned when we saw what happened,” she said.
“It’s only a small amount of money, which makes no difference, it’s still a mistake.”
The motion was passed unanimously to credit ratepayers 70 cents in next year’s fees.
The error in the rates charge was reported to Essential Services Commission
