What is happening in the Shire
Rutherglen’s Main street pedestrian barriers ready for installation.
Council contractors are in the final stages of planning for installation of the custom made pedestrian barriers as part of the Rutherglen Economic Revitalisation Project Main Street works.
Installation is tentatively planned for Wednesday next week however we will endeavour to get communication out to main street traders as details are confirmed.
Council contractors have pulled out all the stops to complete and deliver these barriers ahead of schedule.
The barriers will enhance the safety for pedestrian and are a key visual component of the streetscape design.
Up River Road works.
There will be minor delays to traffic on Up River Rd next week as Council carries out safety improvements to existing guardrail at a major culvert to the West of Police Paddocks Rd.
Works will extend and upgrade the guardrail to meet current standards and are were identified in a prior safety audit.
At this stage works were to begin on Monday and be completed by December 14, weather permitting.
There will be a lane closure during the construction time and traffic control measures applied for the safety of road users and council staff.
If you should have any questions or concerns relating to access or the proposed works, then please contact Council on 1300 365 003.
Kiewa-Tangambalanga placemaking project receives award
Indigo Shire, along with our collaborators, Co Design Studio received a Commendation at the Planning Institute of Australia Awards earlier in November.
The award was received for the Kiewa-Tangambalanga Place making Plan which responded to local needs and aspirations by mapping out a five year strategy of place based improvements for the two townships.
We were thrilled to receive the Award, and congratulations to everyone who has been involved in shaping the future of the townships of Kiewa-Tangambalanga.
