Ruther­glen’s Main street pedes­trian bar­ri­ers ready for in­stal­la­tion.

Coun­cil con­trac­tors are in the fi­nal stages of plan­ning for in­stal­la­tion of the cus­tom made pedes­trian bar­ri­ers as part of the Ruther­glen Eco­nomic Re­vi­tal­i­sa­tion Project Main Street works.

In­stal­la­tion is ten­ta­tively planned for Wed­nes­day next week how­ever we will en­deav­our to get com­mu­ni­ca­tion out to main street traders as de­tails are con­firmed.

Coun­cil con­trac­tors have pulled out all the stops to com­plete and de­liver these bar­ri­ers ahead of sched­ule.

The bar­ri­ers will en­hance the safety for pedes­trian and are a key vis­ual com­po­nent of the streetscape de­sign.

Up River Road works.

There will be mi­nor de­lays to traf­fic on Up River Rd next week as Coun­cil car­ries out safety im­prove­ments to ex­ist­ing guardrail at a ma­jor cul­vert to the West of Po­lice Pad­docks Rd.

Works will ex­tend and up­grade the guardrail to meet cur­rent stan­dards and are were iden­ti­fied in a prior safety au­dit.

At this stage works were to be­gin on Mon­day and be com­pleted by De­cem­ber 14, weather per­mit­ting.

There will be a lane clo­sure dur­ing the con­struc­tion time and traf­fic con­trol mea­sures ap­plied for the safety of road users and coun­cil staff.

Kiewa-Tangam­balanga place­mak­ing project re­ceives award

Indigo Shire, along with our col­lab­o­ra­tors, Co De­sign Stu­dio re­ceived a Com­men­da­tion at the Plan­ning In­sti­tute of Aus­tralia Awards ear­lier in Novem­ber.

The award was re­ceived for the Kiewa-Tangam­balanga Place mak­ing Plan which re­sponded to lo­cal needs and as­pi­ra­tions by map­ping out a five year strat­egy of place based im­prove­ments for the two town­ships.

We were thrilled to re­ceive the Award, and con­grat­u­la­tions to ev­ery­one who has been in­volved in shap­ing the fu­ture of the town­ships of Kiewa-Tangam­balanga.
