Exhibition helped to bring artists to life

- By WENDY STEPHENS

ARTISTS from the region last month enjoyed the opportunity to exhibit a selection of figure drawings from their Monday evening sessions held at Tanswells Hotel.

Workshop organiser Kate O’Toole said the exhibition was the culmination of the many drawings that artists have done throughout last year.

“It represented 17 of the 25 regional artists who meet on a casual basis each Monday evening at the hotel to relish the opportunity to draw the figure from a life model,” she said.

“I want to thank James Cleeve the licensee of Tanswells Hotel who is so supportive by offering his back room for the classes and the wall space at the hotel for the exhibition, and Mandy Collins whose wonderful eye for detail curated the art works so beautifully.”

The two hour life drawing sessions will commence again in February on Monday nights from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
