Award-winning artist guest speaker on Sunday

-

ARTLOVERS will have the chance to take a peep into the world of a Beechworth based award-winning artist at a Mayday Hills Art Society talk at 3pm this Sunday.

German born painter Dore Stockhausen, who has exhibited her works both nationally and internationally, will take people through different techniques that she uses as well as her background in becoming an artist.

“I’m a contemporary abstract artist who enjoys painting landscapes often with an architectural influence “she said.

Her artistic expression shares a personal response to the ethereal beauty of the landscape, with a reminder of human interference.

Dore wishes to portray time, a look at the past, the now, and glimpses into the future.

The creative artisan began teaching herself to paint in oil but then developed her own unique style where acrylic paint became her preferred medium.

With her husband Marcus a gold and silversmith, the pair ran their studio/art gallery in East Gippsland for 17 years before recently moving to Mayday Hills, Beechworth where they intend to reestablish their respective art practices.

The Art Society is located in Kurrajong Way, Mayday Hills near the Ghost Asylum Tours in Beechworth.

Gold coin entry donation with afternoon tea provided.

RSVP by this evening to Christine Cansfield-Smith, email bibart@bigpond.com or 0412 126 219.
