The recent raid on Ron Finemore Transport and the accompanying picture that was on the NSW Police Force Facebook page threw up an interesting contrast of comments.
The almost equal split between those with a serious interest in transport and logistics matters and the others was stark. Of the former, the best posts included: “Shrink Wrap is not load restraint”; “You pick up a trailer and it has seal on it and the driver will not see the load. Till the RMS pull you over see the chain of responsibility”; “How about telling the goods depo to train people better in wrapping loads. The drivers don’t do any of that”; “The liquor stacks always scared me when I had to unwrap them. I have literally had to catch bottles and cases that have fallen as the cling wrap was removed”. The other set are best represented by: “Awww look at the poor Jack Daniels”; “Rip JD and Woodstock” and “Heartbreaking to see this happen and good alcohol pays the price”.
