How to...Give someone the creeps

Create a haunted-portrait card with an interactive element

Papercraft Inspirations - - PRINTABLES -

1 Create a 20x12.5cm card base from black card. Trim two pieces of lime-green card to 19x11.5cm then layer them onto slightly larger pieces of purple card, leaving narrow borders.

2 Cut two 18.5x10cm pieces of stone-wall paper then attach on top of the layered panels. Wrap ribbon around one of the panels then attach them to the inside of the card base, as shown.

3 Fussy cut a framed portrait then cut out the eyes. Trim a strip of card into a T shape then place it over the back of the eye holes and hold in place with two loops of card for the T to slide through.

4 Use a thin black marker pen to write ‘pull’ on the tab at the end of the T, and draw pupils for the eyes. Use sticky foam pads to attach the portrait inside the card on the right-hand side.

5 Use the template on page 77 to cut, score and fold a fireplace, then cover it with stone paper. Trim black card to 9x7cm, attach it to the back of the fireplace, to create a box, then affix to the card.

6 Trim a spooky scene to 5x5cm then add thin strips of black card to make it into a window scene, as shown. Attach the window to the left-hand side, inside the card base.

7 Use sticky foam pads to attach a fussy-cut sentiment to the centre of the ribbon, add a fussy-cut ghost to the fireplace, then finish by adding a gold gem to each corner of the card.
