The game, not the show

Remember Defiance, the game? If you don’t that’s OK. It was pretty forgettable as a whole, but it was an interesting idea. Defiance, the game and Defiance the TV series were intended to be a symbiotic pairing, with player-driven events in the MMO influencing the direction of the TV series. Unfortunately the game faltered rather early on and the TV show, lasting three seasons, got all the positive press.

Trion, the developer of Defiance, the game, are taking a second stab at the MMO with Defiance 2050, a remake/reboot of the open world shooter MMO, but this time around it will be free to play. Aside from a number of superlatives and pieces of marketing jargon in a recent dev update video, not much information about Defiance 2050 is available as yet, but the beta should be starting “very soon”.
