Imagine Subnautica, but on land, and in Steampunk setting… Okay, that’s a pretty poor analogy, but you get the idea. Volcanoids challenges you to build and survive in a world overrun by robot enemies and prone to sudden and violent volcanic eruptions. You’ll live and by your massive drillship, a combination base that can you can expand and upgrade, and slow moving land vehicle that can, well, drill.

“The drillship is a cross between an armored vehicle and a fully automated factory,” said Lead Designer Tomas Rampas. “Having a mobile base comes with many advantages and saves players a lot of time. Once multiplayer is added, griefing will become a thing of the past. The ability to go and stay underground makes it really easy to protect the player’s drillship while he’s offline in a way that doesn’t break the gameplay experience for others.”
