“Years ago we defeated the Nachrehzer and his ban on condiments that devastated the world, but life only got worse,” deadpans Dog of Dracula 2’s intro. This is a bleak dystopia of dogs, groomers and cyberbahn addicts. You play as Cid, a “homicidal otaku weapon”, trying to drown out the pain of life by overindulging in durststep and sauce. Full of references to anime and 90s consumerism, Dog of Dracula 2 combines cyberpunk absurdism and noir fiction to great effect, resulting in memorably weird lines. “She owns that onesie in a way that spells trouble in capital keypresses.”
