DID YOU EVER SEE A NEW 386?

One of the oddest things about my experience of the 386 is that I never saw a new one. Every 386- based PC I used or saw was hand- me- down, or a second- hand purchase, or as the 1990s depened, a found-it- on-the-side- of-the- road rescue job. The first PC my family ever bought was a 486SX. In 1993, most of the supergeeks at school had a PC at home... but they were all either new 486s, or second- hand 386s than had come from... somewhere. Oh, and there was one guy who had a Tandy.

That was weird.
