Thermaltake H200 Mid-Tower Chassis

THE PERFECT CASE FOR YOUR NEXT BUILD

-

The way you express yourself in your PC build is important for many enthusiasts. You do the research, you figure out what parts you want, and you make sure that it looks good inside and out. Your build might be different depending on your taste, the set-up in the room you want your computer in, and your reason for building the machine. But no matter what’s on the outside, a good, smart chassis is what you’re going to spend most of your time looking at. If you’re going to be sitting at your PC often, perhaps you don’t want anything gaudy, or a design that’s going to feel dated down the track – but you also don’t want to sacrifice on style.

The Thermaltake H200 MidTower Chassis has an extremely

clean look. It’s available in both black and snow variants, so you can pick to match whichever colour and aesthetic you prefer. The front is, literally, a blank canvas – a free space for any stickers, decals, post-it notes, or anything else you might want to put on there. It’s the kind of timeless look that never goes out of style, no matter how long you hold onto it for. These towers are made from cold-rolled SPCC steel and are both sturdy and attractive – it’s a case with some serious build quality.

The power button, headset and microphone jacks, along with two USB 3.0 ports and the RGB control button, are on the side of the tower, leaving the front clean and striking. It’s a beautiful, simple design, but there’s a big difference between simple and basic – the more you dig into the H200, the more flair it has. It’s an ideal tower for all sorts of different builds; a versatile home for your parts that will look good in any room.

THE SPECS

This is a mid-tower chassis, with dimensions of 416 x 210 x 454 mm. It’s not going to take up too much space, but it’s more than big enough for the majority of builds. It supports an ATX motherboard set-up, as well as a Micro ATX or Mini iTX, depending on what you’re looking to run. There’s a single preinstalled 120mm rear exhaust fan at the back, and plenty of room for more 120mm-140mm fans, including Thermaltake’s RGB Plus range. It’ll also support a radiator of up to 280mm at the front or 240mm on top, as well as most Water 3.0 and Floe series cooling solutions, which is perfect if you’re looking to put together a mid-size monster PC that will run Cyberpunk 2077 next year.

There’s plenty of room for a massive GPU in here, too, with 320mm spare for VGA. It has drive bays for two 3.5” drives or three 2.5” drives, and a full seven expansion

slots inside, giving you a lot of control over your build. If you want something a bit simpler, it’s perfect for that, too – it could be the case that houses a teen’s first PC in their room as they move into the wider world of games beyond Fortnite, or the perfect system for that older relative who mostly wants to send emails and use Facebook but has admitted to you that they’d like to try and get into gaming as well. This is a versatile case, one that could be an ideal fit for many different builds and purposes – and it’s ideal for anyone looking to run their games at high settings.

On the left side, you’ll find a hinged door that gives you easy access to all your internal parts. If you want to swap parts out, keep an eye on a newly installed part, or just show off your build when you take your PC out for a LAN or elsewhere, the 4mm tinted and tempered glass door – which is built to avoid scratches and mishaps – is ideal. It’s hinged on one side, with a simple magnetic latch on the other, making it easy to open your case and fiddle around in there at a moment’s notice. It’s a beautiful, elegant design, as well as being very practical.

THE LIGHTS

You’ll want a clear line of sight into your case to make full use of Thermaltake’s RGB range, too. The case itself can also get in on the fun: there’s a lighting strip along the front of the H200. It’s a tasteful addition to the chassis’ otherwise minimalist facade, one that gives your PC an extra sense of personality without being overwhelming. The strip can filter between 19 different lighting modes and seven different colours, letting you customise your lighting experience in line with the rest of your set-up. You can have colours flow or wave into each other along the strip or have a single colour calmly ‘breathe’ when you get a notification, for instance – there are plenty of ways to customise your experience. Sync it up with your other RGB devices – which will be visible through the clear panel on the side - and you’ll have a case that pulses and glows along with the action of your favourite games.

Inside the case you’ll find a power supply shroud, letting you tuck it away to reduce clutter around your computer area. This shroud is ideal for hiding away cables as well, and there’s a cable routing channel at the back for an easy external cable management solution. You want to be able to take pride in your PC set-up and clearing away all the assorted cables running from your machine is important. Thermaltake recognises this and has designed the case with aesthetics and convenience in mind.

The Thermaltake H200 MidTower Chassis’ design is the perfect metaphor for what building a new PC can feel like. It represents possibilities, and it’s a way for you to express yourself and show off the quality of your own build. This elegant design looks fantastic in both its black and snow variants and looks equally at home in a small bedroom space, in a larger office, or in the middle of a LAN. It’s a case for anyone who knows that sometimes the simple designs are the best, and that a good, strong case that’s well made and looks good will never go out of style.
