Back-button focus Setup
THIS is found hidden away in the Custom Controls menu tab. You can set up your camera so that the AF-ON back button on the rear of your camera can be used to focus with your right thumb. By moving focusing away from the shutter button – leaving that button for just metering and taking the shot – you can pre-focus on the track where the cars will be passing, then concentrate on composition and the shutter. “Try back-button focusing and watch your success rate increase!” laughs Jakob.
