Teleconverter (aka Extender)

-

A small supplementary lens used between a primary lens and the camera body to increase the focal length range of the primary lens. For example, a 1.4x Extender on a 200mm f/2.8 lens will increase the focal length to 280mm, but causes a reduction in the maximum aperture by one stop to f/4.
