JESS’S comment

-

For this shot of Hartland Point lighthouse, we hiked around clifftops to the south for a better view along the coast, and with sun lighting the coast line from behind and to our left side. I started off shooting at f/8 and 1/500 sec which froze the waves – this looked a bit stationary and boring, but David lent me a 10-stop ND filter which, when shooting at f/18, extended my shutter speed to 20 seconds to blur the waters really nicely. David said if ND filters cause colour casts, simply set a Custom White balance using the colour cast filter shot. Hey presto – correct colours!
