Control your Canon DSLR with EOS Remote

Adjust key camera settings from the comfort of your smartphone’s screen using Canon’s free app

-

If you have a Wi-fi compatible camera, such as the Canon EOS 70D or later, you can enjoy controlling it remotely from your smartphone’s screen, courtesy of the free Canon EOS Remote app.

This camera-to-phone connectivity gives you much more freedom when out on a shoot. You can set up the camera in a position where it’s tricky to see its display (especially if you’re using a wireless camera that doesn’t have a flip-out screen, such as the Canon EOS 6D), and then peruse its Live View feed via your phone’s easier-to-access screen. You can then use the app to remotely adjust a host of camera settings to get a correctly exposed photo, then trigger the Canon’s shutter from your phone. This remote control flexibility makes it a doddle to shoot a much more effective selfie.

On the go

You can also use the EOS Remote app to wirelessly browse your Canon’s memory card contents and transfer photos to your phone. You can also use the phone to upload your Canon-sourced photos to social media sites, instead of having to connect your to a PC when you return from your shoot at the end of the day. All in all, it’s an incredibly useful app and it’s free!
