I was taking some still life shots with my EOS 7D Mark II, and now it displays a message, ‘Switch to AF’ whenever I switch to Live View. What’s going on?

BRIAN SAYS… It’s always strange when a new message appears that you haven’t seen or noticed before. Usually as the result of some camera setting change. I checked on the EOS 7D Mark II and can replicate the same message, as you can see. It is related to your selected AF method for Live View. Quite possibly when you were shooting still life you changed the AF method on your camera. AF method has three settings, Face + Tracking, Flexizone AF zone, and Flexizone AF single point. Set to Face + tracking and the message appears each time go to Live View to remind you that you can select a different face with the multi-controller, or switch to a smaller AF area for more precise focus.
