We utilized the blue backdrop this time by adding a fourth light gridded to illuminate the background, which creates a lovely glow behind Ava. Again her hair was lit from behind by a gridded light, with a panelled softbox to light her right side, and fill light softbox front-right. Shooting from below, I asked her to look down to the side for a more unique pose – as Emma said, you don’t need eye contact for a strong portrait.
