DUST DELETE/COPY STAMP TOOL PALETTE

This palette’s tools can repair dust specks one by one or delete them

masse. It samples pixels from one part of the image and copies them over areas you want to hide.

RESET BUTTON

You can restore the photo to its original state by clicking this button.

APPLY DUST DELETE DATA

Click here to analyse the dust spots on the Dust Delete Data reference image and automatically clone over them with appropriate pixels.

LIGHT OR DARK?

If a sensor spot is darker than its surrounding pixels, click (Dark); the brush tip appears as a green circle. To remove lighter sensor spots click (Light); the cursor turns red.

PENCIL OR BRUSH?

When repairing sensor spots, your best bet is to use a brush-based cursor, as its soft edge helps create a seamless blend between the repaired area and its neighbouring pixels.

RADIUS

Drag this slider to increase the size of the brush tip. Usually you’ll only need a small tip to target and repair tiny sensor spots, but you may need to increase it when manually cloning out larger areas.

STEP-BY-STEP UNDO

If you make a mistake, use this button to step back; use the button on the right to step forward and re-do healing or cloning operations.

SELECT COPY SOURCE

To clone out complex unwanted objects with precision, click this button. You can then click on the image to manually define which area you want to copy. You can then move the cursor and spray the copied pixels into the target area.

CLONE WITH PRECISION

This crosshair represents the area that has been manually sampled. The sampled pixels are then copied and pasted into the adjacent circular cursor below. This helps us remove reflections that are adjacent to this steel girder without spraying sky over the girder.

NO GO

If an area is too complex for the Copy Stamp to repair automatically, you’ll see this warning sign. In this case you’ll need to manually sample the area to clone from.
