My EOS 6D has an exclamation mark showing in the viewfinder at the bottom left, what’s the likely cause?

Brian Says… It’s intended as a reminder rather than an error. The exclamation symbol shows up when any of the following are active; monochrome picture style; white balance shift; ISO is set to the expanded value or spot metering set. If you’re shooting in monochrome you’ll only get black and white JPEG files, and spot metering or very high ISO can affect how your photos turn out too. You can change your camera’s behaviour using custom functions. Navigate to C.FN III-4, and then you can choose which, if any, of the four settings cause the exclamation to show.
