School tip Bracket your shots
Vary your camera settings across a sequence of images
your camera’s Automatic Exposure Bracketing (AEB) function is useful when you want to take a set of different exposures to combine later. Like many essential camera functions, you can access and adjust this directly on the Quick Control screen without having to go to the menu: highlight the Exposure compensation bar and rotate the camera’s Main Dial. The indicator will separate into three, to show the bracketed exposures – continue rotating the dial to set the bracketing up to three stops darker or brighter than the standard exposure.
As well as exposure, it can also be worth bracketing the white balance if you shoot JPEGS, as some filters, despite their name, can add a colour cast to images.
