I have 16-35mm f/4l IS USM and 70300mm f/4-5.6 IS II USM lenses, what standard zoom lens would cover the 3570mm range with my EOS 5D Mark IV?
Brian Says… There are several options from Canon, Sigma and Tamron for this standard zoom range. Canon options include the EF 24-70mm f/4l IS, EF 24-105mm f/4l IS II with the Sigma 24-105mm F4 DG OS HSM Art. Smallest and lightest is the Canon 24-70mm, with the Sigma being heavier and similar in size to the Canon 24-105mm. Each lens has image stabilization, and like your 16-35mm f/4, maintain the f/4 aperture value as you zoom. All the lenses have great optical performance with the Sigma 24-70mm getting five stars in our Photoplus test in issue 142, and the other two gaining four-and-half stars. I chose the EF 24-70mm f/4l for my own EOS 5D Mark IV, but all these lens are strong.
