01 The pentamirro­r viewfinder only gets you 95 per cent frame coverage. 02 Up on top there’s a dedicated on/off switch, which isn’t featured on the cheaper 4000D. 03 Shooting modes are divided into Basic Zone and Creative Zone sections. 04 The viewfinder’s dioptre adjuster, lacking in the 4000D, is a bonus for everybody who doesn’t have perfect eyesight. 05 Rear-panel controls aren’t overly cluttered and give quick access to a range of shooting settings. 06

It’s not a touchscree­n and lacks vari-angle pivoting, but the rear LCD is bigger and more detailed than that of the 4000D.
