Tourist rescued from gorge

Another per­son was rescued from Kar­i­jini Na­tional Park last week — this time an elderly man.

The 71-year-old was walking on a trail in Han­cock Gorge about 2pm on Sun­day when he slipped. He is sus­pected to have bro­ken his hip.

The tourist, from New South Wales, was car­ried out of the gorge on a stretcher and was taken to Tom Price Hos­pi­tal where he was sta­bilised.

He was air­lifted to Royal Perth Hos­pi­tal on Sun­day evening. The res­cue comes af­ter two peo­ple were rescued from the pop­u­lar tourist des­ti­na­tion in the space of one week last month.
