Tourist rescued from gorge
Another person was rescued from Karijini National Park last week — this time an elderly man.
The 71-year-old was walking on a trail in Hancock Gorge about 2pm on Sunday when he slipped. He is suspected to have broken his hip.
The tourist, from New South Wales, was carried out of the gorge on a stretcher and was taken to Tom Price Hospital where he was stabilised.
He was airlifted to Royal Perth Hospital on Sunday evening. The rescue comes after two people were rescued from the popular tourist destination in the space of one week last month.
