The main ve­hi­cle ac­cess point into Red Dog Gorge has been blocked off for safety rea­sons given its prox­im­ity to a Rio Tinto rail line, but many read­ers were dis­ap­pointed to see ac­cess to an­other pop­u­lar Pilbara land­mark re­duced.

About time. The amount of dan­ger­ous close calls they had, try­ing to avoid iron ore trains, was fright­en­ing. They even climbed through stationary trains that were stopped wait­ing for a sig­nal. I’m amazed no one was killed or in­jured.
