Health schol­ar­ships for ru­ral prac­tice

Nurs­ing and health stu­dents with an in­ter­est in ru­ral prac­tice have re­ceived fur­ther sup­port, with a new schol­ar­ship pro­gram an­nounced in the Pil­bara and Mid­west. Ru­ral Health West and the WA Cen­tre for Ru­ral Health have part­nered for the ini­tia­tive un­til June 2019, to spon­sor stu­dents look­ing to un­der­take min­i­mum two-week place­ments in the re­gions.

Ru­ral Health West chief ex­ec­u­tive Tim Shack­le­ton said the pro­gram, funded through the Depart­ment of Health, was a fan­tas­tic op­por­tu­nity to ex­pose stu­dents to the ben­e­fits of liv­ing in ru­ral com­mu­ni­ties.
