“I love Amy Winehouse, she’s my number one, but I also love all of the old school jazz, soul women like Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald,” she said.
Her single, Ain’t No Love Song, is a soul and R&B combo which was officially launched at Onyx on Sharpe on Sunday, December 2.
“It feels amazing to finally have my own song out there. I had it written down as a goal, so to see it accomplished is really refreshing and I’ve proven to myself I can do it,” she said.
“A friend convinced me I should celebrate, so I put on a song launch to get some exposure, plus there’s some amazing talent in Karratha, so I thought it would be great to have a night where we could all come together.”
With step one done, it’s time for Danelle to write some more music, put herself out there and notch up some more performances.
“I’ve done covers my whole life, but doing my own stuff is bringing back my passion and love for music,” she said.
“If it’s a dingy old pub where I get to sing my originals, I’ll be happy.”
