Shark attacks surfer
PYRAMIDS Beach was closed after a shark attack on Sunday morning.
Albany bodyboarder Noah Symmans was sitting on his board with his legs in the water when police said something grabbed Mr Symmans’ leg.
He kicked out and broke free. He sustained four puncture wounds to his lower calf.
Surf Life Saving WA operation supervisor Jake Webb said Mr Symmans managed to get himself to rocks.
Mr Webb said a friend who had been in the water with Mr Symmans reported the attack at 8.42am.
Mr Symmans was treated at the scene before being taken to the Port Bouvard Surf Life Saving Club first aid room.
He was then taken by helicopter to Royal Perth Hospital.
Mr Symmans’ injuries were not life-threatening and he was in a stable condition.
