Youth charged in machete attack
A TEENAGE boy has been charged over an alleged machete attack in Greenfields on Sunday that left one woman with a deep cut on her face and another in hospital.
It will be alleged about 4pm three males entered a deli on Murdoch Drive and two of them were armed with weapons, including a machete.
Police said one of the males struck a woman, aged in her 50s, on the shoulder with the blunt part of a weapon.
He then allegedly struck a woman aged in her 40s in the face with the sharp end of a weapon.
Police said the women managed to run out the back of the store, while the males stole cigarettes from behind the counter.
The males left the scene on foot, heading north towards Bortolo Park.
The woman with the cut on her face was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital for treatment, while the other woman was taken to Peel Health Campus.
A 15-year-old male was found hiding in bushes close by and taken into custody by police.
He has been charged with aggravated armed robbery and assault occasioning bodily harm.
He was due to appear in the Perth Children’s Court on Monday, when the two males were still on the loose.
