THE Save the Children Bookshop in the Smart Street Mall will mark its 10th anniversary with a VIP celebration and morning tea on Saturday, December 15, at 10.30am. “Since opening our first bookshop in the Arcade 10 years ago, we have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for children in need,” bookshop manager Denise said. “To celebrate we are hosting a morning tea in the Arcade which is free to all our customers: past, present and future.” The bookshop has been at the heart of Mandurah branch of Save the Children since 2008. In 1999, thanks to an idea by Robyn Brown, the branch started collecting books for a fundraising sale. The first book sale was held in Tuckey Street in a venue donated by Kevin Green and its success made it an annual event. Have a milestone? Tell us at: mandurahcoastal[email protected]muni
