Meet the official PlayStation colouring book

-

Have you ever looked at Aloy and thought her sartorial choices could be more vibrant? Well, a colouring book and app dedicated to the art of PlayStation – Art For The Players – is hitting shelves in November, giving you the chance to experiment with the palette of some of your favourite PS All-Stars.

What can you expect from its 96 pages? Well, you’ll be able to redesign the hues of 16 of PlayStation’s most famous game series, from classics such as Ape Escape, WipEout and Lemmings through to modern greats including Bloodborne, The Last Of Us and Journey. 70 pages of the book are dedicated to colouring in, while the rest is filled with interesting titbits about the history and design choices of the featured games.

The Art For The Players app, meanwhile, will be available as a free mobile download, with plenty of colours and tools to try out, and sample designs to help test them all. Further templates will be available as in-app purchases, meaning you’ll get to pick and choose which PlayStation icons are truly deserving of your tinkering mind.

APP-LE OF YOUR EYE

Sony’s working alongside publishing company Kings Road to produce the project, and there’s a simple reason why our favourite gaming brand makes a great fit for a colouring book: “PlayStation has been in our lives for more than two decades and has produced some incredible moments for gamers,” Kings Road CEO, Perminder Mann, tells us.

And the partnership doesn’t end there. Mann says they’ll be working on “further colouring titles, as well as new innovative formats” for Media Molecule’s Dreams. Is there no creative itch the upcoming PS4 exclusive can’t scratch? No? Felt tips and crayons at the ready, then… Art For The Players (RRP 9.99) will be available at Amazon from 3 Nov.

?? ?? There’ll be appearances from the likes of Kratos, Nathan Drake, Ratchet & Clank and characters from Heavy Rain.
