LAST MONTH ON PS PLUS

- @KoeniginKatze

This is the end, my friend, the end. Of PS3 and PS Vita on PS Plus at least. They left your monthly lineups on a high note, though, and to celebrate we’re going to start this month’s column by looking at these offerings first.

Hanky at the ready? The PS3 headline offering was Metal Gear Solid 4:

Guns Of The PatriotS, the end of Solid Snake’s story, set in the distant, dystopic future of… 2014. This game is more than ten years old, after all, but was no less impactful all this time later.

It was joined by Divekick, a twobutton fighter in which your main tactic was strongly suggested by the game’s own name, which was available for PS3 and PS Vita. For an added blast from the past it included Johnny Gat of Saints Row fame along with other guests. Only on PS Vita, there was also the colourful

Gunhouse. Mashing together tower defence with puzzle elements and infinite levels, you had to bring your brainy ‘A’ game if you wanted to protect your orphans from those hungry aliens. Finally for PS Vita, but on PS4 too, was

Rogue Aces. This retro-styled roguelike shoot-’em-up pitted you against waves of enemies, and you had only one life and three planes to make a go of it.

There were two main events on PS4. While the latest game included everything in Hitman The

Complete Season, with tweaks and improvements alongside a stack of new content, the first season for free this month was worth a look if you hadn’t already acquainted yourself with Agent 47. He was joined by a host of historical fighters in For Honor as the last of February’s lineup.

Two solid PS4 titles, then, though we are sad to see the last of PS3 and PS Vita. However, the added cloud storage for game saves was nothing to sniff at, going from 10GB to a massive 100GB.
