PS Now for something completely different

-

Uncovering the intricacies of a new area is much more fun in videogames than real life. Often digital realms have fantastic sights to find and secrets to uncover – a far cry from the gnawing anguish of hunting for a pasty shop when you accidentally get off at the wrong train station.

Sometimes you’ve got to make the most of your money, right? We’ve all been there: staring at the shelves, only able to afford one game. You choose one, pay up, take it home, bust it open, and have to make the most of it. It’d be a waste not to explore every single marker on the massive open world map, yes?

While it’s great to dig deep when it’s a game you’re really into, feeling you have to just because you’ve paid your money isn’t. Which is why Horizon Zero Dawn: Complete

Edition being on PS

Now (until 7 Apr) is the perfect opportunity to dive into the game and see if it’s for you without having to make that commitment. You can have a taste of that world for nothing more than the price of entry.

It’s not the only open world game I’ve been playing on the service this month. After having the chance to follow Aloy’s adventures for a second time, I wanted to explore the other worlds on offer. Because PS3 games are also on the service I crossed the frontier of Red Dead Redemption, revisiting the dusty New Austin of my past.

How could I resist then hopping over to another PS3 timesink and trudging the Capital Wasteland once more in Fallout 3, revisiting the sights and sounds of that expansive and dangerous land? Of course, I then had to immediately pull up

Fallout 4 to contrast and compare how far the series had come. I’ve not jumped in yet, but Mafia 2 and Mafia

3 are now calling to me too. With no obligations to buy each separately, the time to game-hop is here and PS Now.

?? ?? The setting for John Marston’s western adventure is one of the most fun open worlds to fool around in and explore for yourself.
