Long live the king!

Marvel’s Avengers takes a trip to Wakanda

-

The fourth story expansion for the live-service superhero game debuted this August, and it’s been a long time coming. After the untimely passing of Chadwick Boseman last year, this new take on King T’Challa is portrayed here by Christopher Judge (who also voices Kratos).

In Black Panther – War For Wakanda, T’Challa is reeling in the aftermath of a tragic betrayal. Unable even to turn to his own sister Shuri for assistance, T’Challa soon finds himself completely alone, staring down the advancing forces of the villainous Klaw.

While an all-T’Challa party would probably be interesting given the new hero’s acrobatic moveset, he won’t be fighting by himself for long. In teams of four, you bring the fight to Klaw. From Wakanda’s lush jungles to the Royal Palace overlooking Birnin Zana, missions introduce plenty of sights worth seeing in the most substantial story expansion to date. It’s been long overdue, and Black Panther finally does breathe some fresh life into the somewhat stagnant live-service hero-’em-up.

The expansion brings four looks for T’Challa, including a noir-inspired get up that pays homage to the time Kasper Cole briefly took on the Black Panther mantle in order to defend New York City in the comics. Talk about iconic!
