This month’s cover game snuck up on me, which is apt considering the stealthy shenanigans present in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Having played Origins all year I wasn’t sure a new game in the series, so soon, was for me. Then I spoke at length with creative director Jonathan Dumont. This issue we discuss choice-led narrative, classic monsters, and sunken treasures… and I’m on board. You can read everything on page 50.
In fact, this issue is a celebration of the entire series. On page 64 we dive back into every Assassin’s Creed game, and on page 60 we interview Jesper Kyd, composer of the series’ music, and chat with The Flight, who wrote and performed Odyssey’s theme.
When we do take our eye off Assassin’s Creed it’s to cast it over Rockstar’s historical epic, Red Dead Redemption 2, on page 30. Looking to the future we go handson with Metro Exodus on page 42, too. We have all time zones covered this issue!
