If you were to pick a developer to revive the PC’s rootin’ tootin’ real-time tactics series Desperados, a kind of bounty hunter Hitman, Mimimi would be at the top of the list. Last year it brought Shadow Tactics: Blades Of The Shogun to PS4 (which we gave 8/10 in OPM#140), proving you could do slick top-down strategy on console.

Here’s a peek at one of the levels, set in your typical Wild West frontier town (another we’ve seen is a Louisiana swamp). At first glance it’s a tactics sim like any other, but zoom and the world is rich with detail. It’s a game where you’ve got to think, but everything is clearly communicated (outlaws’ vision cones, the amount of noise your shotgun will make, where you’re hidden) giving you everything you need to approach these open-ended, complex hits.

These two women are having a little chat that’ll point you towards a discreet kill method. One of several targets to kill, she’s taken over the brothel, and won’t take kindly to you intruding. Civilian zones let you explore and gather intel without arousing the suspicions of the locals.
