Head(set) in the clouds
Sony-licensed HyperX Cloud comes to PS4
Once simply a memory company making RAM, HyperX has been making a big push into the peripheral market this year, releasing some advanced gaming keyboards, mice, and headsets. Next stop? PS4.
You may have already seen its Cloud series headsets, which have been spotted all around the world thanks to HyperX’s focus on comfort – they’re a favourite of many eSports players, have been worn by Snoop Dogg, and were even used by FIFA video assistant referees in the 2018 World Cup. The headsets have always been compatible with the console, but the HyperX Cloud for PlayStation 4 is officially licensed by Sony, and built with PS4 players in mind.
A durable aluminium frame keeps the HyperX Cloud from feeling cheap, and is nice and sturdy on the head. Memory-foam-padded ear cushions are the key to comfort, meaning that even long gaming sessions with headphones on don’t leave your ears sore and uncomfortable – we’ve all been there! In-line audio control makes it easier to adjust the sound on the fly, and the audio quality is of a high standard – super-clear, with some lovely bassy tones that gives any adventure on PS4 that extra level of immersion. Some games definitely benefit from wrapping sound all around your ears, whether that’s jamming out on Thumper or just taking in God Of War’s world. For multiplayer, the HyperX has a noise-cancelling microphone. But it’s easy to detach it for when you’d rather go it alone, too.
PADDED CUSHIONS ARE THE KEY TO COMFORT.
Black with a tasteful PSblue trim, this headset will look great in your PlayStation collection.
