When re­mak­ing a game just isn’t enough

Af­ter re­mak­ing the first game sub­stan­tially it didn’t make sense for Cap­com to sit on those ef­forts. That’s how Res­i­dent Evil 0, a pre­quel to the se­ries made within the same en­gine, came about. As with clas­sic Resi games there are two char­ac­ters: STARS of­fi­cer Re­becca Cham­bers and es­caped con­vict Billy Coen – who you ac­tively switch be­tween to solve puz­zles, with AI pick­ing up the slack. Re­leased in 2002, this is where the clas­sic for­mula started to show its age. A big part of this game in­volves a train, so if you like trains, this is the one for you.
