New Fitbit devices
Fitbit has expanded its range of wearables with the launch of the Versa Lite Edition ($249.95), the Inspire HR ($179.95) and Inspire ($129.95) and a swim-proof children’s Ace 2 ($129.25 coming soon).
The fitness-focused brand is also revamping its Fitbit app’s interface and adding a new Fitbit Focus section and launching a new Rewards program later in the year.
Fitbit Versa Lite Edition ($249.95) builds on the success of its predecessor, the Fitbit Versa, retaining most of the core fitness and smart features including sleep tracking, heart rate tracker, GPS, 15+ exercise modes, 4+ days battery life and more.
It includes a simple one-button design that is lightweight and swim-proof in new colour options with accessories like stain-resistant, swim-ready silicone bands and hybrid woven bands (coming soon).
Fitbit declares the Fitbit Inspire HR is its most affordable and stylish 24/7 heart rate tracker, and for newbies to wearables, it recommends the Fitbit Inspire.
Both trackers have a new swim-proof design with a touchscreen display, smartphone notifications, automatic activity, up to 5 days of battery life for day to night wear, and more.
Inspire HR and Inspire accessories are available in stain-resistant silicone, and in printed lilac bloom and soft pink deco.
For the more fashion-forward users, Fitbit also offers Horween leather accessories including new double-wrapped saffiano bracelets, stainless steel metal mesh bracelets and a clip option (ranges from $44.95-$99.95 and sold separately).
The wearables brand hasn’t forgotten about kids, the new Fitbit Ace 2 is designed to instil healthy habits at an early age.
It too has a new swim-proof design with a bumper to prevent damage while in use and is available in fun colours and accessories including patterned designs.
Ace 2 features new animated clock faces, motivating challenges, and colourful avatars and cover photos to personalise their profiles within the Fitbit app.
Growth in the global wearables market — forecasted to reach 189 million units by 2022 according to IDC — is largely driven by smartwatches, but trackers remain a significant part of the category overall.
“With our newest products, we’re delivering high-quality, easy-to-use wearables that are more affordable, so getting healthy can be accessible to people of all ages and activity levels – even those who have never tried a wearable,” said James Park, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit.
