World of fash­ion en route

busi­nesses will rub shoul­ders with fash­ion de­sign­ers from places like Czech Repub­lic and Uruguay when Eco Fash­ion Week Aus­tralia rolls into town next month.

Tick­ets are avail­able for the nightly run­way shows at the Port Dou­glas Com­mu­nity Hall that will fea­ture 35 in­ter­na­tional de­sign­ers.

EFWA Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Zuhal Ku­van-Mills said the run­way shows will fea­ture the world’s best in or­ganic and sus­tain­able fash­ion.

“The in­cred­i­ble re­sponse we have re­ceived clearly shows the strong grow­ing de­mand for sus­tain­able, lo­cally made, and eth­i­cal fash­ion,” she said.

“It’s time to stop the sweat­shops and fast fash­ion for­ever.”

EFWA will take place in Port Dou­glas from Novem­ber 4-10.

Run­way shows will present indige­nous, lo­cal and in­ter­state de­sign­ers, along with de­sign­ers from Canada, Eng­land, In­dia, Uruguay, Ar­gentina, Ja­pan, New Zealand, Por­tu­gal, Spain, Tur­key, Viet­nam, and the Czech Repub­lic.

Port Dou­glas busi­nesses The Beauty Room and Karmeleon are among the lo­cal busi­nesses who are get­ting in­volved in the event.
