Local bottleshop wins state award

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS - Moya Stevens

THE Bottle-O Mossman has been announced as the Best Detached Bottleshop in Queensland for the third year in a row, and manager Paul McMahon couldn’t be happier.

According to Paul, mystery shoppers judged the entrants for the shop design, range, presentation and staff service, and the Mossman outlet came out above all other contenders.

“Just because we are in Mossman, doesn’t mean we can’t drink well,” Paul said, “and tourist and locals like to buy locally.”

“People are drinking less but better wine, and we stock over an extensive range of wine, beer and spirits to cater for everyone.”

There will be no chance of winning four years in a row however, as after three years of success, the Bottle-O Mossman has now entered the Queensland Hotels Association’s Hall of Fame and will not be eligible to enter the competition again.
