Memorial game for Delaney to be played
A TRIBUTE match for the late Carl Delaney will be hosted by the Douglas United this Saturday at Cassowary Park.
Mr Delaney was killed in a work accident in Darwin a year go.
He was heavily involved with the Dragons before moving as a player and administrator.
The local club have decided to play a memorial game in his honour between sides from Port Douglas and Mossman.
“His sons, Dominic and Matthew, will be leading the teams out while our grand final goal scoring hero Ross returns home to Manchester to celebrate with mum Terry,” Dragons president Matt McMaster said.
“Our love goes out to those over here, and those over there.”
The match kicks off at 4.30pm at Cassowary Park with players asked to meet at 3.30pm. Food and drinks will be available at the venue.
