Last day to get CWA goodies

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS - Gizelle Ghidella

FRIDAY is the last chance to pick up delicious homemade Christmas goodies at the Port Douglas CWA.

An assortment of Christmas cakes, cookies, shortbread, jams and chutney will be available for sale just in time for Christmas parties and lunch.

Port Douglas CWA secretary Vivienne Ruffles said all proceeds will be donated to the Rural Crisis fund.

“A total of $6 million was raised and donated by CWA branches throughout Queensland,” Ms Ruffles said. “It goes towards buying fuel, feed and water. It’s also supported those effected by recent bushfires.”

Branch president Pat Gilbert thanked the community for their support.

“They’ve been so great, and visitors too and tradies, the SES, police, paramedics and councils workers who stop by on a Friday to pick up afternoon tea,” she said. “We’ll be back in February, if the sign’s out the front we have cakes.”
